Martha’s Chapel Cemetery

Down a rough and rumbled road on the back roads of Huntsville, Texas sits an overgrown old cemetery. It’s filled with Masonic headstones long forgotten by time. The plaque as you go through the gates say it’s the sight of the first Methodist settlement in Texas. However, this place is better known as one of the most haunted places near Houston. There are countless “accounts” of supernatural happens but no legends I could trace. Personally I didn’t experience anything nor did I encounter the so called KKK cult that is said to make sacrifices there. As old cemetery’s go it really is beautiful in it’s abandonment. The headstones are cracked and broken, each one with its own inscription if you can read them. Some are weathered beyond recognition adding to the allure and eeriness.
